Everybody should practice yoga because it helps manage the body cells which allows for control over lying, anger, jealousy, violence, and stealing.

My students have lots of challenges in life, like having children very young and completing their responsibilities, but they keep coming to yoga because it sharpens their performances, balances their lives at home, and it manages their body cells. I have learned more about tribalism and classes. People were divided and living in the same areas; there were people seen throwing stones at another tribe and it was just lots of violence. But they came together and forgot about the conflicts. They have realized that if they fight they all lose.

I feel connected to the Earth and everyone there. Most of the time we all wear shoes and that creates a space between us and the Earth, but with yoga we take off our shoes and really connect to the ground. Even though they live in the slums, my students practice yoga because it brings hope to their lives, supports equality, and gives them perseverance.
